Venice Baroque Orchestra Presented by RK Cultural Productions

Founded in 1997 by Baroque scholar and harpsichordist Andrea Marcon, the Venice Baroque Orchestra is recognized as one of the premier ensembles devoted to period instrument performance. The Orchestra received wide critical acclaim for its concert and opera performances throughout North America, Europe, South America, Japan and Korea,Taiwan and China. The Orchestra has appeared in many more cities across the United States than any other Baroque orchestra in history. They also maintain the most frequent touring schedule to Asia. Committed to the rediscovery of 17th- and 18th-century masterpieces, under Mr. Marcon’s leadership VBO has given the modern-day premieres of Francesco Cavalli’s L’Orione, Vivaldi’s Atenaide, Andromeda liberata, Benedetto Marcello’s La morte d’Adone and Il trionfo della poesia e della musica, and Boccherini’s La Clementina. With Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Orchestra has staged Cimarosa’s L’Olimpiade, Handel’s Siroe, and Galuppi’s L’Olimpiade, and reprised Siroe at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York in its first full staging in the United States. The Orchestra has been seen worldwide through several television specials, including films by the BBC, ARTE, NTR (Netherlands), and NHK. They are the subject of three recent video recordings, and their performances were also featured on Swiss TV in the documentary film by Richard Dindo, Vivaldi in Venice.

A Mexican Italian Opera in concert In 1519 the historic encounter between the Aztec Emperor Moctezuma and the Spanish General Cortés took place. In 2019, exactly 500 years later, the tri-national project with a Mexican core component Antonio Vivaldi · Motezuma (1733) celebrates cultural and national collaboration with a tour of performances in Canada, the United States and Mexico. • International cast of singers from Mexico, Spain, USA and Canada • Ensemble Caprice, a leading baroque orchestra from Montreal, Canada • Artistic partners Bach Society of Minnesota and Seattle Early Music Guild (USA) • Concert version with theatrical elements, featuring actor Pedro Juan Fonseca This orchestra will also be participating in “Bach to School” and will have 100 Miami students participating on stage during the concert.

Music@SRT: Cortadito with Federico Britos

The final concert of Fantasy Theatre Factory’s Music@SRT series with Cortadito will be an extraordinary celebration indeed. South Florida’s premier Cuban son group was awarded “Best Latin Act” by the Miami New Times. To celebrate this recognition, Cortadito is honored to welcome a true legend to the stage: world-renowned violinist Federico Britos. A 2-time Grammy Award winner and recipient of the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015, Britos is known as “the titan of the violin” for his impressive experience and knowledge of the instrument. Serving as leading chair, soloist, and ultimately concertmaster with some of the great symphony orchestras of his native Uruguay, Venezuela, Peru, Cuba, and United States, Federico has toured extensively throughout the Americas and Europe. He has performed and recorded with some of Latin America’s most celebrated musicians, such as Astor Piazzolla, Horacio Salgan, Bola de Nieve, Cachao, João Gilberto, Dorival Caymmi, Vinicius de Moraes, Armando Manzanero, and Tania Libertad. He has also shared his outstanding talent with jazz legends Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Woody Herman, Benny Goodman, Bucky Pizzarelli, Charlie Haden, Eddie Higgins, and Charlie Byrd.
