Much like Dalí’s painting of the same name, The Persistence of Memory suggests a melding of time, exploring musical dialogues across history. Through György Kurtág’s transcriptions of Bach's works, this program forms an arch linking one of the most significant composers alive today to one of the most significant composers to ever live. Crumb’s Cosmos III is the final concert in Kaleidoscope MusArt’s concert triptych honoring George Crumb’s 90th birthday. The program features the winning compositions of KMA's Call for Scores. While the first two concerts in the series presented one of Crumb’s most influential and monumental works, the MAKROKOSMOS cycle, the final concert showcases his global influence on the younger generations of composers through seven chamber music works selected via our call for scores. Our annual season kickoff is one of the best parties in Miami, a FREE, family-friendly celebration of culture, community and music. Classic Albums Live will be performing Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' classic album Damn the Torpedoes, note for note, cut for cut, playing beloved hits like “Refugee” and “Don’t Do Me Like That." In addition to Classic Albums Live, we will be featuring artists Albert Castiglia and Host DJ Le Spam! Miami based DJ Le Spam, founder of Spam Allstars, is also known for his eclectic vinyl collection. Born in Montreal, and raised in London and Bogota, he was exposed to a variety of music and cultures from an early age. He specializes in rare and hard to find music. His expansive collection includes Latin, Funk, Miami-bass, Haitian, Jazz, and more. Albert Castiglia has been making his living as a bluesman for 20 years, coming to prominence as lead guitarist for the legendary Junior Wells. He's played with a who's who of blues greats in his career and stepped out on his own in 2002 with Burn, an album that got universal raves.

South Florida’s superb, Grammy®-winning vocal ensemble brings its breathtaking complete performance of Handel’s choral masterwork Messiah to the concert stage for the first time since 2004. Led by conductor Patrick Dupré Quigley, this show will benefit Seraphic Fire’s education and music advancement programs.

Dedicated to the African roots music of the Gullah culture of the coastal lowlands and sea islands of Georgia and South Carolina, Ranky Tanky (“get funky” in Gullah patois) has received numerous raves since their debut album “overflowing with authenticity” (Afropop Worldwide) came out in 2017. Powerhouse vocalist Quiana Parler (a 2003 American Idol standout) fronts an accomplished jazz quartet of fellow Charleston musicians and longtime friends, performing gutsy spirituals, blues, songs and more that mark the endurance and beauty of African-American culture.

A captivating new international musical talent, Nella is a Venezuelan native trained at the Berklee College of Music and a protégé of legendary flamenco artist/producer Javier Limon, who's performed with Latin pop stars Alejandro Sanz, Carlos Vives and Susana Baca. She joins us on her first U.S. tour, bringing her luminous, soulful sound and a mix of original and Venezuelan and Andalusian folk songs from her debut solo album.
