Elgar’s sublime song cycle "Sea Pictures" provides open water for Avery Amereau to demonstrate her rich, velvety contralto. Later, Holst’s orchestral suite "The Planets" conjures a galaxy’s worth of emotions — from the bellicose dissonance of “Mars, the Bringer of War” to the electrifying “Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity.”

National Symphony Orchestra Gianandrea Noseda, music director and conductor Hilary Hahn, violin Program: SIMON Four Black American Dances BRAHMS Concerto in D major for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 77 BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 5 The National Symphony Orchestra and its nearly 100 musicians are coming to the Arsht Center for the first time. Led by Milan-born music director Gianandrea Noseda and based at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., “one of the hardest-working orchestras in the biz” (The Washington Post) is known for its “exhilarating performances” (The New York Times). The Economist proclaimed that “the Italian maestro and the NSO make magic.” For added dazzle, Hilary Hahn, three-time Grammy winner and Musical America’s 2023 “Artist of the Year,” joins them in Miami. The CHOPIN for ALL 2025 season continues with a remarkable young American pianist, Nathaniel Zhang, 3rd Prize and Best Concerto Winner of the 11th National Chopin Piano Competition. Presented as part of the 50th Anniversary of the National Chopin Piano Competition, this concert highlights the next generation of classical music stars. Nathaniel will perform works by Chopin that showcase his extraordinary talent and deep musical expression. A Chopin Foundation Scholarship recipient, he has performed as a soloist with the Seattle Symphony, Hilton Head Symphony, and others. Nathaniel has won the MTNA Junior Performance Competition, the Waring International Junior Competitions, and top prizes in the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, the Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition, and the International Piano-E Competition. A 2023 National YoungArts Finalist, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, been featured on NPR’s From the Top, and participated in the Frost Chopin Academy and Morningside Music Bridge festivals.
